Shared Motherhood

Shared motherhood is an option for same sex couples who wish for both partners to be involved throughout the treatment journey to a family as a shared experience.

This treatment can also be known as intra-partner egg donation involves a full IVF treatment with eggs collected from one partner the biological mother , fertilised with donor sperm and an embryo replaced in the other partner who carries the child and gives birth, the gestational mother. If embryos are frozen they can be replaced subsequently in either partner.

We are happy to advise couples on this option for treatment.
