Genetic Testing

At North West Fertility we offer couples the option of testing/ screening your embryos before subsequently replacing them. This screening may be for a specific genetic disease disease that runs through your family or it may be to exclude embryos that carry an abnormality that would make pregnancy unlikely, miscarriage more likely or very rarely to have an infant affected by a chromosomal abnormality. Whilst this testing may reduce the number of embryo transfers you have and reduce your chance of miscarriage, it will not increase your chances of a live birth from your treatment

At North West Fertility we will advise you of the benefits or otherwise of this treatment.

As with all clinics in the UK we would not be able to screen your embryos to choose the sex of your baby as this is illegal in the UK.
