Male Fertility Treatments
For at least half the couples that experience delays in conception it is a male factor that may play a part in the delay and in around 1/3 couples it is wholly a result of a suboptimal semen analysis.
At North West Fertility our clinicians have many years of expertise at assessing and treating Male Fertility and are among the leaders of treatments options available including the option for retrieving sperm directly from the testicle in a process known as surgical sperm retrieval.
What is Surgical Sperm Retrieval?
For some men there is may be a complete failure for sperm to appear in their sample ( Azoospermia). Investigations and blood tests may indicate the cause of this absence of sperm and allow appropriate counselling for the options for treatment. For males who have undergone a previous vasectomy with or without a subsequent attempt at reversal then Surgical sperm retrieval by a simple biopsy is a particularly effective way to obtain sperm to allow IVF/ICSI to be successful.
